Chris is a customer focused Project Manager with extensive experience delivering complex technical projects and leading multifunctional engineering teams. Commercially astute and business oriented Chris has managed numerous product development projects from initial concept through to volume manufacture.
His background is mainly in the electronics manufacturing industry but he has also worked in other demanding environments. Past employers include Parker Hannifin (Automotive components), Pace PLC (Set Top Boxes), Zetex PLC (Semiconductors), International Rectifier (electronics), Anglo Great Lakes (Industrial graphite) & Welwyn Electronics. His career has shown continuous progression from Process Engineering to Project Management of multi-million pound projects.
A fast learner Chris adapts to his environment quickly, adopting the prevailing culture but bringing a fresh approach to complex problem solving. He is fully conversant in Risk Management techniques and is also an experienced Change Manager.
Chris has
extensive Lean production and Six-Sigma experience and is adept at
maximizing value added activities. He is very experienced in the Management of
geographically diverse teams. He also has extensive subcontract management
experience and is aware of the importance of understanding cultural diversity.
He is a
democratic manager who motivates the team by getting them involved and committed
to the project objectives. He believes in setting SMART personal
objectives and gaining an individual commitment from team members to get the task
done. A naturally sociable person he can deal effectively with people from all
levels of the organization. He has worked with PRINCE2 and PMBOK methodologies.
Chris has a BSc in Physics from UMIST and a professional certificate in management from the Open University. He is a member of the Project Management Institute.
